Pies and peas in Leeds
If you need a giggle and you love pies then you have to watch this! My friend Joey is the pie loving Yorkshire man in the video - features Leeds Kirkgate Market too. It had me in tears with laughter thanx to Kate who showed me it on a night out, I think I got a stitch from laughing so hard. Enjoy!

This is from Fairfield Farm Cafe just off the A59 - I have work meetings here and the food is amazing, my boss Hugh introduced me to it as it was a convenient place to meet and he said the food was great. It’s run by a chef called Martin so the quality of the food is very good and it’s at reasonable prices.
Watch this space for an interview with Martin, why he took on the cafe, his career as a chef and what he sees for it’s future!

I met Colin yesterday at Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival, his wife Helen makes these cake pops. I’ve never tried one before - I know they’re a huge craze at the minute but I’ve not been tempted by them! Jackie from The Hungry Gecko - Asian street food - told me they were the best ones she’s ever had so I just had to buy one! I’ll let you know what I think, just putting the kettle on :) (Taken with picplz.)
Delicious Deli & Cafe - www.facebook.com/DeliciousGisburn
I have driven past this place so many times, it’s on the A59 in Gisburn and I have been regularly driving past it for about 2 years!! It’s usually late at night when it’s closed or when I’m in a rush to get to Yorkshire for an event or birthday.
So Andy and I were driving to Yorkshire ( I can’t event remember what for now) and we had some time so we popped in. I think from the pictures you can tell i LOVED the crockery!! Reminded me of a fab lady who I’ve bought things from on Facebook - she makes tea stands and sells crockery just like it - More Tvicar -
The staff were really helpful and friendly and being the allergy queen that I am I was asking about what was in ALL of the cakes and as they are all made on the premises, I got the answers I needed. I enjoyed an amazingly sticky rice crispie cake and Andy had a gooey almond slice. Yum! We also bought cake for my mum who wasn’t well and cake is obviously the best cure for illness.
As I perused around the shop I discovered lots of local produce; they stocked all the essential things for your cupboard as well as fresh veg, milk, bread, local eggs and deli items. I even spotted my favourite Yorkshire chorizo - amazing. The lady serving me explained that they’re on the Yorkshire/ Lancashir border so try to stock a selection of produce from both counties - I thought that was very diplomatic!
I would definitely recommend stopping there if you’re driving down the A59 on a summers day, they also have a little cafe at the back and seats outside so you can enjoy a cup of tea and cake - I wonder if it’s Yorkshire or Lancashire tea…. I will have to ask next time I’m there.
